Nowadays, I find it hard to sleep at night. Even when I force myself to sleep with some music on bed, it doesn’t work. So I have no choice than to wake up and do something relevant with that time. You are either a morning person or a night-owl. That’s what we’ve been led to believe. When it comes to learning, what’s the best time to study?
Everyone thinks they know what the best time to study is, but in reality, there is no clear winner. From a scientific point of view, each person has his/her own time to study. Some people get more out of studying at night while others find the best time to study in morning and afternoon.
After a good night’s sleep, you’ll likely have more energy and a higher ability to concentrate the next day. The sun that comes in the day is actually good for the human eye and makes you alert and awake. Day time is the best time to communicate with your friends, teachers and mentors especially in cases where you have any questions or you want to get involved in group study.
On the other hand, night is a time you have abundant peace in your environment. That is why I am mostly relaxed at night and my eyes and brain work differently from how they operate during the daytime. Most of my friends are always asleep during the night except a few. Therefore, my social media notifications and chats are always less active. For me, night is my best time to study or involve myself in any creative activity.
So when is the best time to study?
It all depends on your lifestyle. There is nothing hindering you from deciding when to study and at your own pace. But if you are an adult and you are coming back to study after a long period of time, you will notice that daytimes are far better suited as you are used to being active during the day. Please, I will add that it is very important for everyone to get enough sleep to maintain good health.
